A remarkable and stylish tilt top table of solid rosewood timber - no veneer on either the top or the base. The extraordinarily fine figured top is edged with gadroon carving. The pedestal is composed of a boldly carved dramatic spiral twist, terminating in four deeply carved acanthus topped downswept legs ending in scrolls. Resting on casters. William IV period, ca. 1835.
