Antique Oval Wicker Glass Top Table, Circa 1890

Chairish

$1,760

Circa 1890 wicker table by New England Reed Co., Boston. Professionally refinished in Benjamin Moore’s Sea Pearl with hand woven details and distinctive brass-capped feet. Ideal for sunrooms, porches, or coastal interiors. This antique oval wicker table was made by the New England Reed Company of Boston, a firm renowned for its high-quality wicker furnishings during the Gilded Age. With its elegant oval top, lower woven shelf, and finely braided rim, the piece blends utility and craftsmanship in classic American style. The two-tiered design offers space for serving or display, while the hand-woven reed work, including a finely braided rim and woven lower shelf, speaks to the artistry of its maker. Brass-capped feet complete the form with a distinctive touch rarely seen in later wicker pieces. Freshly refinished in Benjamin Moore’s Sea Pearl, a soft white that suits both coastal and cottage interiors, it presents with a clean, updated look. A fitted glass top protects the surface, and if desired, a fresh fabric can be placed beneath the glass to reintroduce a previous decorative accent—a nod to how the table was originally styled. Prior to refinishing, the underside bore a label that read: New England Reed Co. 11a Green St. Boston, MA. Perfect for a sunroom, garden room, or breezy porch, this timeless American piece also works beautifully as a center table, side table, accent piece, or bar station in a casual living space. American Circa 1890 Height 30 1/2 In. Width: 36 3/4 In. Depth: 24 3/4 In.
