This circular wine taster’s table, properly known as a vendange, was made in France circa 1870. The oak planks have wonderful texture and variety within the grain, aged to a dark amber tone. Used by wine-makers throughout France and Europe, these specialized tables incorporate a tilting mechanism that allows its top to be positioned in upright orientation – taking up less space in tightly-quartered cellars. A quick twist of the V-shaped support leg locks the top in place when flat. This unique table would be delightful as a center table to greet your guests, an occasional game table, as well as in a casual dining space like a breakfast nook.
