Superb and rare Renaissance period walnut table from France, late 16th/early 17th century. A very beautiful table that can serve as a serving table or writing desk, as it has a height of 65cm below the apron. A very attractive top with a carved frieze. The apron is adorned with finials at the corners. Furthermore, the table features a superb carved frieze with cherubs, foliage, birds, and sculpted heads. It rests on a base with carved feet connected by a carved wooden stretcher. It rests on seven carved columns. Magnificent patina and in superb condition. The table underwent restoration in the 19th century.
