1960's Murano Attributed Wave Centerpiece Bowl

Chairish

$395

Since the 13th century Italian artisans have practiced unique glassblowing techniques on the island of Murano near Venice. This mid 20th century centerpiece bowl is a dramatic example of the "wave" technique. Its bold shape and form embodies the optimism of Italian mid-century modernism. It was created by manipulating still molten glass on the glassblower's pipe. Then shaping the glass with tools while rotating and blowing air. Using gravity to guide the glass in a wave like shape. Thus while unsigned and unlabeled - we attribute this piece as "Murano". Measures 12.25" wide x 10" deep x 8.5" high. In excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, surface abrasions, clouding, or etching of note. There are a few light scratches on the polished bottom pontil commensurate with vintage age/use. See photos for details.
