Baroque Centerpiece

Our Baroque Centerpiece was inspired by the highly ornate decorative style so popular throughout Europe in the 17th and early 18th centuries. Beautiful filled with lemons or dried florals, this elegant vessel was handmade exclusively for us in the picturesque Northern Italian town of Bassano del Grappa, where fine ceramics have been produced since the 17th century. Using a special white clay called terraglia dolce ("sweet earthenware") found in the nearby Dolomite mountains, skilled family artisans meticulously hand shape and carve each Centerpiece to create the sumptuously scrolled acanthus and lattice relief on both sides. Baked at 1000 degrees Celsius, the ceramic shape comes out of the kiln resembling smooth porcelain, perfect for hand applying the bisque ivory finish. Each Baroque Centerpiece is stamped underneath with "Hand Made in Italy" and signed by the artist. Baroque Centerpiece features:
