This mid-century comb back traditional Windsor style chair was built with a small desktop on the right arm, complete with a single drawer for style and function combined. Produced by Barnard & Simonds Co. of Grand Rapids, Michigan, it boasts a sturdy solid wood construction and unique factory original green coloration beautifully distressed to more closely match the antique pieces it mimics. A metal factory tag on the underside dates this chair to between the company's move to Grand Rapids in 1959 and eventual sale in 1967; faint shadowing and the remains of the original paper tag plus handwritten factory notes (model number 711-62) atop the paint confirm the original nature of the paintwork. Overall a rare and beautiful mid-century reproduction of an American classic. Chair is approximately 38 inches wide including desk, 33 inches deep including desk (22 inches deep chair only).
