The Ghia chairs were designed for Brueton by Charles Gibilterra in the 1970s and sold throughout the 1980's at which time the chair was discontinued. The chair frames were manufactured of solid stainless steel and then custom-plated in polished brass. The brass finish has become worn and scratched over time and would benefit from refinishing but is in good vintage condition. The frame is 1 1/4" x 1/2" flat bar. The fabric is a royal blue velvet that does show signs of wear on the arm pads and outside backs but is in overall good condition. The chair is extremely comfortable with ample seating space and a supportive back. The cantilever design allows for a gentle rocking motion when the chair is occupied.
