African ceremonial palaver chair, composed of two independent structural elements: a solid seat with V-shaped legs and a carved sculptural backrest, assembled using a traditional mortise and tenon system. The backrest, with a strong sculptural presence, features a central anthropomorphic figure flanked by stylized animals. The surface displays an antique dark patina, with wear consistent with use.
