A Antique Country Bannister Back Sidechair, New England, Circa 1750’s Connecticut or Rhode Island circa 1750's Nicely shaped crest rail, and cut turned "banisters" on the seat back. Wrapped paper woven seat, likely a replacement. Maple, and Ash or Oak woods. Ash woods for the front turned stretchers point to a eastern CT or RI area manufacture in the early 18th century. Size: 19 3/4” wide, 15 1/2” deep, 38” tall. 16” seat height. Condition: Refinished. Old repair on the crest rail. Lots of patina and wear from age/use. Scuffs dings are consistent with age/use.
