This wooden African palaver chair or "chaise palabre" consists of two parts. We've come across quite a few of these chairs, but never one that has been so beautifully naively decorated. On the back, rather contrasting with the front, a carved bird. These types of chairs can be found in various African cultures. In good vintage condition. Ca 1950s/1960s.
