I'm pleased to offer for sale this gorgeous antique spindle back chair in excellent condition and the following features: - Made of solid cherry wood circa 1940s - Beautiful hand-carved spindle back with 5 beaded vertical spindles and 2 horizontal braces - Beautiful hand-carved stretchers, including 3 beaded spindles in front - Beautiful hand-carved tapered straight legs add an elegant touch to this fine chair - Hand-woven cane seat - Measures 17" wide x 16" deep x 36.5" tall - Structurally sound and in in excellent cosmetic condition, with no significant or noteworthy imperfections, but rather wear indicative of normal age and use This chair came from an estate consisting of virtually all early American hand-made furniture, including at least a dozen Windsor-style chairs. Several of the pieces were dated as far back as the mid-to-late-18th century (1700s), and most of it was made and purchased in New England. I suspect that this particular chair was made sometime in the early 1900s.
