Antique 19th century Chinese hardwood scholar's chair with marble tablet insert. Wonderful carving with shaped rail and upright back. Measures 40" tax x 20 1/2" wide across the front x 16" deep. Good condition with pleasing patina - age shrinkage & separation where the top rail meets the stile - see photo. Displays beautifully.
