pair of 19th century carved walnut side chairs circa 1870. good quality pair of side chairs which would ideally suit a bedroom or dressing room. cartouche shaped back rest surmounted with a hand carved shell and flowers around the channelled edge.  further carving of the same below the seat.  each standing on 4 cabriole legs with further carving and fluted detailing, with brass castors to the front legs. upholstery in good order, with a complementary check fabric to the insert on the backs. minor surface marks to woodwork, in line with age and use. seat height: 17 /12" seat depth: 17 1/2"
