Danish mid century modern solid oak occasional chairs attributed to Borge Mogenson for Fredericia, Model 231, made in Denmark c. 1960s. Simple and comfortable with a particularly impressive build quality — not a loose joint in sight after 60 years of use. The seatbacks are affixed to the frame with concealed hardware, adding to the minimalist aesthetic. Fully reupholstered – with new webbing and cushions – in a forest green textured fabric. Ready for decades of use. The frames were lightly sanded and oil finished, bringing out a rich amber color. The chairs are stamped with a very faint "231" imprint on the rear side of the front stretcher bar.
