Circa 1950 Low Back Windsor-Style “Colonial Chic” Maple Wood Accent Chair

Chairish

$350

Excellent Pre-Owned Condition. Note: Pot and plant are not included. Around our home, small chairs and stools, have always been somewhat of an accessory piece; you can never have too many! Small or large, in and out of doors, you can move it around from room-to-room, space-to-space, to meet the need of the moment, whether it been seating or décor. The sleek profile of this delightful low back armless Windsor accent chair lends itself well to being used as a desk seating option, to easily tuck in under a desk. It’d serve nicely as “Colonial chic” vanity chair, with or without a chair cushion (not included) or function effortlessly as a plant stand, as shown in one of the photos. Its profile is a uniquely low back supported by five spool-shaped turned spindles with a curved top rail. The contoured seat sits on smooth turned legs; two double H-cross stretchers below provide structural strength and integrity. It measures 27½” x 17¼” x 16” x H/W/D; seat to floor height 19½”; seat 14” x 13¾” W/D; seat thickness 1”; back 14½” x 8” W/H; weight approximately 15 lbs. In excellent condition with minimal age-appropriate wear. Constructed from solid maple wood using mortise and tenon joinery; mid-honey tone stain and natural hand rubbed wax finish. We believe this beauty was made sometime between 1940 to 1950 in the United States, as this style of chair was quite popular during this time period. This beauty has the look-and-feel of a Colonial-style Stickley or Heywood-Wakefield low back maple wood Windsor chair but it is not marked, there is only an assortment of numbers in colored pencil on the seat’s underside. Note, pot and plant are not included. This beauty will surely complement most any design style as an extra seating option in a guest room or nursery or as an eye-catching accent, in an entryway or nook. Thanks for looking!
