Dagon chair - by Camilo Andres Rodriguez MarquezDimensions: D 55 x W 50 x H 76 cmMaterial: Wood This piece takes its name from Dagon, the Babylonian God of fertility. It is composed of simple elements which convey a metaphorical dialogue within the space in which it is placed. It is possible to perceive Dagon in different ways depending on the angle from which it is observed. This capacity to exhibit different perspectives imbues the chair with a certain dynamism, without compromising on comfort or sustainability. Camilo Andres Rodriguez Marquez is a Colombian born designer with a degree in Industrial Design from Colombia (FUAC) and Mexico (UNAM). He is fascinated by photography and cinematography, and intends to unify these two artistic expressions into his design in the form of narrative, projecting and communicating the interaction between the world and his objects. In his visits to several places in Mexico, such as San Juan Chamula in the sierra of Chiapas, Tzintzuntzan in Michoacán or Real de Catorce in San Luis Potosí, he was exposed to experiences that provided him with the awareness of how traditions, storytelling and rituals play an important role on how humans interpret their reality and our role in the universe. CarmWorks creates handmade furniture influenced by the observation in nature & inspired by three simple realities: nothing last, nothing is complete and nothing is perfect.
