Estate lineage traces this chair back to the Baltimore Basilica Church, the first Catholic Church to be built in America. Circa 1821. A comprehensive remodeling in 1991 is the reason the chair has become available. original black finish with red felt fabric and slightly shorter stance all support the use and its tie to the church. Original brass wheels and sockets on the rear legs for movement by altar boys.
