Early 20th-Century Petite Curved Stile Double Rung Ash Wood & Needlepoint Seat Accent Chair
Chairish$398
Excellent Pre-Owned Condition. Small chairs, for me, have always been somewhat of an accessory piece around our home; you can never have too many. A good one fits into any space! Small or large, in and out of doors, you can move it around from room-to-room, space-to-space, to meet the need of the moment, whether it been seating or décor. The lovely horseshoe-shaped needlepoint upholstered seat rests gracefully on slender saber front legs and slightly splayed slender saber legs on the rear that rise up to form the chair stiles. The French Country-inspired design of the scalloped crest rail and center rung adds an elegant grace and charm to the overall profile of the chair. The six cross stretchers on the sides, back and front provide excellent stability and structural integrity. We believe this chair to be crafted from solid ash wood with a hand rubbed mid-tone walnut stain and wax finish using mortise and tenon joinery. The pale sage hued textile needlepoint seat has a alternating heart and circular floral and foliate bouquet motif in varying soft shades of pink, leaf green and marigold. This beauty measures as follows: Overall: 32½” x 18” x 17¾” H/W/D Seat: 17½” x 16” W/D; seat-to-floor height 17” Back: 16” x 14” H/W Weight: approximately 8 -10 lbs. Structurally sound and in overall excellent condition with age appropriate “bumps and bruises” of life type of wear. We believe this beauty was made in the United States sometime in the early 20th-century by an unknown maker. This early 20th-century beauty’s charm will make a fabulous statement in a guest room, child’s bedroom or entryway. Thanks for looking!
