Edelweiss 290 is a solid ash wood chair with felt glides.‎Edelweiss is a collection of chairs, stools, and lounge seats born from Philippe Bestenheider’s desire to engage with the materiality of wood.‎Crafted from thin layers of plywood, the seats combine the comfort of generous surfaces with the formal and structural elegance of Swiss design.‎The arched shape of the wide backrest is designed to interlock seamlessly with the seat, creating a balance between tension and compression forces that evokes a micro-architecture and references traditional Alpine chairs.‎The chair is available in two versions—with a solid or perforated backrest.‎ The version with perforations is even lighter, featuring graphic cutouts that push material reduction to the limit and result in an agile, contract-friendly seating solution.‎
