This chair has been in the same family for over 100 years. It was purchased in the early 1900s. I believe that it was originally purchased in Salt Lake City, UT or San Francisco, CA. It is hand carved, and the carvings continue from the front to the back. It is in excellent condition with some minor scratches that a professional can touch up. I'm not sure of the exact origin, but I've googled similar chairs. They're identified as Japanese.
