The Stedelijk Chair from BD Barcelona Design is a sculptural yet functional piece in which legs, seat, and backrest flow as a single continuous form. Created by Sabine Marcelis on commission from the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, it draws on the museum's architectural language in its clean profile. Constructed entirely from welded aluminum with a brushed, Teflon-treated finish, the material is consistent throughout the piece, its microtextured paint surface lending a tactile quality. Lightweight and suitable for both residential and public settings, it marks Marcelis's first venture into chair design.
