Beautiful antique stump or trunk chair from Sweden, early 1900s. This chair is made from the stump or trunk of a tree and then hollowed out. The chair is a single piece, with only the round seat incorporated. A beautiful, clouded painting technique, similar to the one used in Sweden at the time, has been applied to the chair. In the past, the left side was likely placed too close to a stove, damaging the paint. This also caused a crack that hasn't fully formed and is still firm.
