This wonderful pair of nursing chair has many excellent carved features, truly highlighting the craftsmanship of the Victorian era. The backrests are constructed with a gorgeous carved foliate backsplat. The backsplat is held by the upper and lower foliate carved rails, which is held by the two side carved rails. The chairs have low comfortable sprung floral upholstered leaf patterned seats, with matching brocade boarders. The upholstery is in excellent condition. The chairs stand proudly on two front cabriole legs, finished with carved front feet, and two turned back legs. All of the legs are finished with working rolling porcelain castors. These exquisite Victorian Nursing Chairs are sure to impress in a period bedroom, nursing room, or lounge home setting. Overall, this pair of nursing chairs are in great antique condition with slight signs of use and veneer wear, as to be expected from an item with age (see photographs). There is a historical chip to one of the foliate backsplats (see photograph). The lower carved foliate backrest supports show historical cracking, but this does not have any functional affect (see photograph).
