This is a classic 1970s Ethan Allen "Button Back" Hitchcock-style side chair. A signature piece of American Neoclassical Revival design. This chair features a warm Cinnamon-toned maple finish and intricate hand-stenciling that tells a story of grace and abundance. The top crest rail features a sophisticated motif of mirrored swans flanking a central urn, while the central splat showcases the iconic Neoclassical Lyre (harp) focal point. The design is accented with delicate silver-white floral "brightwork" and traditional bronze-powder stenciling. The hand-woven natural rush seat remains tight and in good, functional condition. Markings: Stenciled "Ethan Allen * Button Back Hitchcock" on the rear seat rail.
