Herbert Ohl (1926–2012) was a German furniture designer. He studied painting and graphic design at the Karlsruhe Academy of Fine Arts and subsequently worked with Egon Eiermann. from the mid-1950s, Ohl taught at the Ulm School of Design and became a member of the university's governing board in 1959. from the 1960s onward, Ohl worked as a designer for various companies, including Fiat, Brionvega, Arflex, Wilkhahn, and Rosenthal. For Rosenthal, Ohl designed the cantilever chair "Swing" in 1982. This sculptural chair is made entirely of black lacquered metal. It has been professionally repainted and shows no signs of wear.
