1960s Italian Sess Chaise Longue Attributed To Nani Prina For Sormani In Orange Velvet

Chairish

$9,800

An exceptional example of the iconic Sess chaise longue attributed to Nani Prina for Sormani, Italy, circa late 1960s. Defined by its fluid sculptural profile, integrated backrest and distinctive circular opening, the Sess is a highly recognizable example of experimental Italian furniture design from the Space Age era. Constructed from shaped molded foam, this example is upholstered in rich orange velvet that beautifully emphasizes the chaise's organic form. The upholstery presents exceptionally well, and the internal foam structure remains supportive and retains the distinctive silhouette associated with the design. The chaise has no surviving manufacturer's label. Attribution is based on its recognizable form, proportions and internal molded-foam construction. Photographs showing the upholstery, seams and construction beneath the zippered cover are included for reference. The piece was acquired several years ago from a private Hollywood residence and has been carefully maintained. It is offered in very good vintage condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use. There are no major tears, holes or structural issues observed. Please review all photographs as part of the condition description. Located in Camarillo, California. Local inspection may be arranged. The seller is happy to coordinate with Chairish delivery or an approved professional furniture shipper.
