Authentic LC4 chaise longue manufactured by Cassina in Italy during the 1970s and designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. This numbered example, engraved 3075, retains several desirable early production features, including the original rubber suspension system beneath the upholstery. The chaise longue is upholstered in its original black pony hide, showing a remarkable natural patina developed through decades of use. The upholstery has been professionally refreshed with new internal foam and new leather piping while preserving the original hide. The chrome-plated tubular steel frame shows age-related scratches and wear. The original black lacquered steel base displays patina consistent with age. The rubber support tubes show minor damage but remain functional and can easily be rotated to conceal the affected areas. A highly collectible early Cassina production of one of the most iconic designs of twentieth-century modernism.
