Vintage woven wicker and rattan chaise lounge. This piece is an early release by Pier 1 in 1966. In the early days, Pier 1 sold “cool” home goods and furnishings from India and Southeast Asia. It was a haven for 1960’s flower children looking for unusual items. The store sold Indian elephant-base side tables, nubby-woven, colorful wall hangings, love beads, incense and plenty of rattan furniture. Pier 1 things from the early days are highly collectible.
