1930s Art Deco Machine Age Three-Tier Chandelier In Frosted Copper And Glass

Chairish

$4,475

This elegant Art Deco Machine Age skyscraper style chandelier was realized in the United States circa 1935. It features three circular stacked glass shades that ascend in diminishing diameters. Each of these shades has frosted centers and translucent perimeters. The top and bottom shades are clear, while the center one is blown in a subtle copper hue offering a striking tonal juxtaposition and imbuing the piece with a subtle dynamism. The three shades are pierced through the center with a chrome rod and secured at their base with an orbital finial in the same material. With its striking graphic silhouette and austere geometric forms (whose sum is many times that of its parts), this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of Machine Age design as well as those with a penchant for truly sophisticated (and exquisite lighting). The fixture has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. It accommodates six candelabra based bulbs offering up to 360 watts of light. The height can be adjusted to suit. American, circa 1935 Dimensions: Height: 13 in (33.02 cm) x Diameter: 16 in (40.64 cm)
