Art Deco Pâte De Verre Glass And Bronze Four-Light Chandelier Attributed To Noverdy, France, 1920s

Chairish

$3,174

Art Deco pâte de verre glass and bronze four-light chandelier by Jean Noverdy France, circa the 1920s. This splendid French Art Deco period chandelier features a central, beautifully shaped “Pâte de Verre” glass lampshade in dark yellow, red, and blue tones, signed "Noverdy France", hung at three impressive bronze chains and three ornate bronze arms holding each a glass lampshade, acid-etched signed "Noverdy France" in dark yellow, blue, and red tones as well. The bronze fixture and canopy are decorated with stylized flowers and leaves in Art Deco style, with a pine cone finial at the bottom of the chandelier. This gorgeous French pendant chandelier features one interior and three exterior lights each with a socket for an E27 (E26) light bulb. The light fixture is in complete working order, but as with all vintage or antique lighting, we recommend that it be tested and fitted by a qualified electrician. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
