Early 20th Century Grand Prospect Hall Empire Crystal Chandelier

Chairish

$3,800

A rare piece of New York City’s Gilded Age history, this stunning Empire-style chandelier was repurposed from a monumental fixture in the main ballroom of Brooklyn’s legendary Grand Prospect Hall. Built in 1892, this light has illuminated over a century of grand galas, weddings, and performances in one of the city's most cherished landmarks. The fixture features a dark-patina brass frame with a tiered "sac-à-perl" silhouette. The upper crown is draped in shimmering crystal swags, while the lower bowl is embellished with cascading beaded crystal strands and heavy prismatic drops. Six candelabra-style lights are positioned atop ornate flared bobeches, creating a radiant, even glow. This light requires six E-12 candelabra light bulbs. This light is cleaned, wired, and ready to ship. Priced each. The manufacturer and exact date of creation are unknown. The dimensions are 53 in. H x 18 in. diameter.
