Murano glass is different from any other glass blowing process because it is over 1000 years old. Artisans have continually developed and enhanced the technique discovered at the end of the first millennium when remains of ancient glassware were found in Venice. When making the glass, they mix with other minerals which gives it its vibrant colors, then the mixture is mouth-blown and handcrafted by master glassmakers. This 6-arm chandelier is an exquisite example of the craftsmanship that has become synonymous with Murano glass. The arms and body are fluted glass tubes beautifully disguising the main structure of the piece, but the delicate golden glass flowers elevated by blown glass tubes makes this chandelier magnificent! Originally, there were 6 removable downward facing flowers, but 1 was broken in transit, so we only have 3 pieces placed in the chandelier, as shown in the photos. The balance and beauty of the chandelier is not diminished by this and we have the extra 2 for back up or can be added back to the piece easily. We recommend white glove delivery due to the fragile nature of this piece. Approximately 36” of brass chain and brass canopy included.
