This extraordinary mid-century modern chandelier is a rare piece of design history, specifically designed and executed by the renowned kamenický šenov glassworks for the 1958 expo in brussels. The czechoslovak exposition at expo 58 was a monumental success, winning the top prize and defining the "brussels style"—a movement characterized by organic shapes, elegance, and optimistic modernism. This particular fixture was purchased directly at the brussels exposition, providing it with impeccable provenance. The chandelier features twelve elegantly curved brass arms, each terminating in a delicate, flower-shaped opal glass shade. When illuminated, the opal glass provides a soft, warm glow, while the brass components exhibit a beautiful aged patina that authenticates its vintage origin and adds character to its golden silhouette. Its "atomic" yet floral form makes it a perfect centerpiece for both mid-century and contemporary interiors. Condition: the brass is in original condition with a rich patina.
