Gilded Wheat Sheaf Chandelier From Hans Kögl, 1960s

Chairish

$955

Sculptural gilt wheat sheaf chandelier by German designer Hans Kögl, dating from the 1960s and executed in the iconic Hollywood Regency style. The chandelier is formed as an elegant upturned bouquet of broad gilded leaves and wheat stems, creating a dramatic floral silhouette and a warm, atmospheric light. The richly textured gold finish and organic composition are characteristic of Kögl’s decorative lighting designs, combining mid-century glamour with naturalistic forms. When illuminated, the layered leaves reflect the light beautifully, making the piece a striking focal point in both classic and modern interiors. The chandelier features a central lamp holder and takes a standard screw-in bulb. It is suspended from a chain with a matching scalloped gilt metal ceiling rose. ( Bulb not included) In good vintage condition with age-related wear consistent with use. Some minor gilt loss on a few leaves. The underside retains a beautiful bright gilding while the top side shows a visibly more muted and duller tone due to age not visible once mounted. Overall a well-preserved example with an attractive vintage patina. Dimensions Total height: 92 cm / 36.22 in Height without chain: 20 cm / 7.87 in Width: 42 cm / 16.54 in Depth: 42 cm / 16.54 in This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
