Magnificent and impressive Empire-style bronze and alabaster sixteen-light chandelier from the late 19th century; later has been electrified. The circular ring with four large majestic finely cast swan branches each supporting three lights with circular drip pans. The main ring, decorated with filigree and flowers, holds a large alabaster bowl, underneath centered with a pinecone finial. The chandelier is hung from four chains connecting to the upper corona, decorated with ornate palmettes, leaves, and flowers. Twelve exterior lights - sockets for E14 size light bulbs, four interior lights - sockets for E27 (E26) size light bulbs. The light shining through the light creamy color stone and reflecting on the large ornate crown is warm and atmospheric and it emanates a beautiful ambiance. In good condition with some typical signs of use and aging of alabaster. The light fixture is in complete working order, but as with all vintage or antique lighting, we would always suggest it is tested and fitted by a qualified electrician.
