A very large and very heavy vintage chandelier comprising three mouth-blown murano glass cylinders of striped opal glass on clear, with three chromed cylindrical holders and white-lacquered brackets and centre column. The lamp was made in italy in the late 1960s or early 1970s, and was made by an unknown company, but are attributed to av mazzega when they occasionally appear on the market. the lamp is exceptionally tall, and would be best suited to rooms with ceiling heights of at least 3.5m / 11’6” – perfect for stairwells, or grand rooms. The hanging rod could possibly be shortened or replaced by a competent electrician to suit lower ceilings (but not much lower). It looks magnificent paired with either small spotlight bulbs that stay hidden from sight but illuminate the glass, or long tubular bulbs that make a statement of their own. the lamp has been dismantled, cleaned and rewired using premium italian double insulated 3-core cable with a vintage-style black and white houndstooth sheath. the lamp accepts x3 e27 edison screw bulbs. Will require a suitably strong ceiling. up to 250v (europe/uk standard).the wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
