Italian mid-century White chandelier mod. Falkland by Bruno Munari for Danesi Milano, 1964 Chandelier mod. Falkland composed of a series of aluminum hoops of different sizes, covered in elastic white fabric. The aluminum reflector placed on top holds the pendant light. Produced by Danesi Milano in 1970s and designed by Bruno Munari in 1964. Label and logo present on the reflector. Very good conditions, has small scattered spots on the fabric. Measurements in cm 45 x 250 H approx. the idea is inspired by Munari's trip to Japan, where the designer is fascinated by the simplicity and functionality of the paper lamps, which take on their shape only when they are hung, thanks to the force of gravity; when stored, they take up very little space, thus allowing flat packing, they are also easy to assemble and have a very low cost.? However, paper lamps are fragile and tend to turn yellow, they absorb a lot of light and are not washable.? Starting from this analysis, Munari carries out research aimed at finding the perfect material, finally borrowed from industrial knitwear: the filanca was at the time used exclusively for the production of women's stockings, but featuring high elasticity, flexibility and lightness, as well as low cost and excellent light-diffusing properties.?. Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
