This stunning modernist chandelier, realized in the manner of Vistosi, was realized in Murano, Italy- the islands off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. The chandelier features an abundance of rods in polished chrome extending outwards from a central orb, which culminate in alternating handblown black and white with translucent perimeters handblown. They are secured by circular ball supports also in polished chrome. The fixture attaches to the ceiling via a domed canopy of the same material. With its bold aesthetic and clean modernist lines, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier accommodates 16 candelabra based bulbs providing up to 960 watts of light. Italy, 21st century.
