This elegant and rare Biedermeier chiffoniere was crafted in South Germany around 1830. It features a beautifully grained walnut veneer on a softwood carcass, with a striking bookmatched veneer pattern on the front. The piece comprises seven drawers, all individually lockable, with solid oak interiors and finely dovetailed construction. The central drawer cleverly opens into a hidden secretaire compartment with a writing surface and several small inner drawers. All locks are functional and come with finely crafted brass keys and escutcheons. The sides are veneered in expressive walnut with cathedral grain. Resting on bun feet and topped with a pronounced cornice, this piece exemplifies the clean elegance of the Biedermeier period. Carefully restored and hand-polished, it is a functional and decorative highlight for any refined interior.
