An authentic 18th-century French Louis XVI period chiffonier, or small gentleman's chest, from Alsace. Crafted from solid walnut with a vertical configuration featuring classic Neoclassical linear symmetry and rounded fluted front corners. Four dovetailed drawers with fabric lined interior and finely aged cast bronze ring pulls, locks but no key. Original gray and white marble top with rounded front corners. Rests on elegant fluted pilasters that taper down into slender, ringed Louis XVI legs. Nice proportions and good craftsmanship using pegged construction. Marble top has a repaired crack.
