Thonet bentwood child's chair, as illustrated in the 1886 catalogue. This chair has been authenticated and dated to the 1880s by a Thonet Company representative, and valued by that individual at 500 euros. The seat was originally caned, as evidenced by the caning holes surrounding the seat frame. At some point in its log history, the chair was modified for a solid upholstered seat with the addition of a screw hole in each corner brace. The needlepoint cover has been removed to expose the older, vinyl seat cover and it it now offered with this covering in place. Some separation of the back ring due to age, but this is not damage!
