A stunning and very decorative antique Georgian style chinoiserie breakfront bookcase / china cabinet. This was made in the USA by Drexel, it dates from around the 1960’s. It is of amazing quality and is beautifully decorated with lacquered Chinese style chinoiserie throughout. The upper cabinet contains adjustable glass shelves, this would be equally useful as a bookcase or display cabinet. It is a very useful size, large enough to be impressive and containing lots of storage, but actually not enormously wide or deep. The inside back of the upper section has been covered with reflective backing by the previous owner. The condition is very good for its age, there is some minor surface wear to be seen here and there, mostly along the lower front edge, with no major damage to be seen. This comes apart into two main pieces for ease of transport. Width – 58 inches , 147 cm Depth – 14 inches , 35 cm Height – 80 inches , 203 cm This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
