Small sideboard, china cabinet, antique kitchen shelf, circa 1850, in dark walnut with light sage green + decorative details, restored into a one-of-a-kind piece. In person, the cabinet looks absolutely charming and much more beautiful than i can show in pictures. the cabinet is made of rustic natural wood and was already stained dark. At the bottom are 2 doors with a shelf. Above the doors, the cabinet is open with a narrow and a regular shelf. The shelves are recessed into the sides and cannot be adjusted. at the top, the roof is flat behind the crown and can also be used as a storage or display surface. refurbished with freehand painting, as was customary in the mid-1800s and earlier. dimensions are: w 89 x d 43 x h 165 cm (center), h (side) 154.5 cm the standard depth of the shelves is 37 cm, the narrow top shelf is 15 cm. the intermediate height measurements of the shelves are: narrow top shelf: 25 cm, front height 42 cm center top height 30 cm bottom inside, top 32 cm, bottom 35 cm condition: the cabinet has many small, old dents and nicks that are simply part of such a rustic cabinet. There are also a few small areas of missing wood on the sides and back, but these are not at all bothersome. The cabinet is made entirely of solid wood, is very sturdily mortised and tenoned, and will surely last another 300 years. the doors were likely added to the cabinet at a later date. i replaced the old rusty door hinges and also installed new door panels. the cabinet is now in beautiful move-in ready condition.
