The Kilburn Mill of New Bedford MA was one of the leading cotton textile centers in the United States during the 20th century. We had the privilege to walk through the aging mill to try and rescue a few beautiful industrial relics. This rolling textile cart had a canvas cover which we removed and was used to carry bolts of fabric from one end of the enormous mill to the other. The solid construction and elegance of the metal lines caught our eye. We added a vintage wood top shelf wrapped in French metal trim, a suspended pipe for hanging garments, as well as two glass shelves. We finished the piece with a coat of resin to lock in the original patina. This rolling valet is perfect for hanging a weeks worth of work outfits, extra coat storage for a party or anywhere a little extra hanging storage is needed, indoors or out.
