Late 20th Century Studio Craft Swivel Armchairs With Sculptural Wood Base By Peter Holzman, Set Of Four

Peter Holzman's website says "Life's too short for boring furniture!" - making these chairs a perfect example of his craftsmanship and mantra. This set of four swivel chairs came from a family in Palm Springs, CA, who had commissioned Holzman to build these along with several other pieces of furniture. The chair legs and base are sturdy, and the swivel mechanism is sound. The bases have great weight to them, and the seating is quite comfortable. The playful faux dear hide fabric has been professionally cleaned; it is very soft. The chairs would work well as living room seating or as club or dining seating. They are incredibly versitile. Maker’s mark stamped on underside of wood base on all chairs. More detailed dimensions: - Seat Interior: 15.5”D at back & 20.5”D at front - Back Interior: 22”H - Base: 19”Dia. X 13”H MORE ON THE ARTIST: Holzman's woodworking skills are mostly self-taught, but his creativity and aesthetic approach are informed by his formal education in graphic design at the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Art & Architecture and, later, by a career in this field in which he ran his own design agency. In the mid-nineties, Holzman moved to the mountain town of Idyllwild, CA. At that time he chose to abandon graphic design and to pursue his passion for creating and building extraordinary wood furniture - true works of art! Holzman is also a decorated Vietnam combat veteran.
