Iconic art deco ! This is a very old example, as indicated by the dryness of the lumber and the flat head screws seen on the underside of the table. Manufacturer’ notes and measurements scribbled in pencil reveal this is not nearly as new as it looks. Thick black lacquer, factory finished surface. Joined and vent natural wood sides. It’s a thing of beauty. This design is attributed to Brown Saltman and Gilbert Rohde. No makers stamps present. Shows wonderfully. The high contrast in black lacquer and natural mahogany make this a truly classic example. Petite in stature, but visually loud.
