Drexel's Campagna line was introduced in 1956 and designed by film director and producer Henry Koster. My parents bought the complete Living Room set around that time. My father chose this furniture and I have always thought he liked it for its contrast to the heavy dark furniture of his childhood. The Campagna style was light pecan with fresh straight lines rather than the dark mahogany and heavy curved lines of his parent's home. I spilled polish remover on the top when I was 10 and had to use my allowance to have the top refinished. Unfortunately the new finish was not an identical match.
