Vintage brutalist coffee or cocktail table by California sculptor and artist Daniel Gluck, made in Los Angeles c. 1970s. The original 3/4" glass top sits on a sculpted bronze base, reminiscent of a lotus emerging from the mud, perhaps as it would look in an alien world. The base features incredible detail and texture, with each element of its design a product of oxy acetylene welding and cutting. A beautiful and unique intersection of art and furniture. This piece does not bear a maker's signature. The materials and techniques are synonymous with the artist Daniel Gluck.
