Kingma coffee table, a brutalist and handmade design by Marcus Kingma, was manufactured in 1994. Being the son of sculptor Paul Kingma, he grew up making these tables and later developed his own style aimed at the German market, making his designs rarer in the Netherlands. The round top consists of a playful composition of natural stone in various colours, bronze and concrete, artfully inlaid into a mosaic-like pattern. This gives the table a sharply defined brutalist character with a sculptural feel. The dimensions are h x w x d = 34.5 x 103 x 103 cm. The colours vary between brown (multicoloured), black and gold, adding depth to the design. The table is signed ‘M. Kingma 94’ (see photos).
